Most self-publishing houses offer editorial services—I know; I've worked for many of them. Sure, they'll add in missing commas, fix typos, and clean up simple grammatical errors, but that's all they care about. They won't provide the kind of line editing that serious writers need, want, and deserve. They won't point out dangling plot points, edit for flow and consistency, or suggest improvements to characters or scenes. If you just want to be published, that's fine.
